September 10th: Tinos

That blardy cat! Got up in the middle of the night because I felt something (not completely solid and warm) next to me on the outside of the tent. I pushed it and it wouldn't budge. OK... *freaking out* So I elbowed Adi and asked him what it is and damn it ... the cat went from his side to my side to sleep. Grrrr .... tried to push it away but all it does is move down the length of the tent. I was like "oh well" at least now I know what it is but Adi has allergies so ok ... Adi ... you get to get rid of the cat. :) At god knows what hour, the chickens started going off. Oh man! Finally got up. Sleep was ok. Ground was really hard and woke up with a sore lower back. *ouch* Went to try the super market for breakfast. Time to get ready for the day. Walked to the port which via the direct route is only 5 mins away. Found some places to rent cars and scooters. There weren't any small scooters for rent and no one has class A license (motorcycle) so we found the cheapest car rental (25 euros/day) and motored off.

First stop was the Monastiri (Monastery of Kechrovounie). Had to put on another shirt so that I was 'decently' dressed. All wore long pants - good!

After that, drove to some place whose name I think is Exobourgo and climbed all the way to the top. WOOHOO! Ok ... wasn't that far but stil ... in sandals? View was good.

Crab made it too!
As we were ready to leave for Volax, the girl, Julie from Vancouver asked for a ride. Sure. Why not? Went for lunch and met this elder gentleman, Mathieu from Montreal (born in Greece). Gave us a few tips and stuff. Cool.

Look what we drove by on the way to Agapi?
Walked through the town and drove to Agapi then to Kolimbithra? Beach! Clear waters and it was slightly cold. Ok if you keep moving around. Water's salty enough to float in. Pretty damn cool.

From there, we drove to another beach (I think it's called Panormos) to check it out. Took another dip but from the rocks. Sea urchins! Sushi! :p
Sea urchins. Look how clear the water is

Didn't stay too long as we need to get back and return the car so started driving back but stopped at Kardiani. Pretty views from here (south side of the island). Walked through town a little via all these alleys. How do people figure out where people live? There are no road names and no numbers on the doors. "Oh just cross 2 alleys on the left, make a right, climb up a winding staircase and third door on the right?"

Headed back to camp to clean up. Returned our "little car that could" and went to dinner. Had my ice-cream afterwards. I'm happy! Was talking by the harbour and ran into (more like she walked 'into' us) Julie again. Surprise! Surprise!

Day 5: Tinos -> Mykonos
