September 14th: Naxos -> Santorini

Woke up late this morning. Would have slept in more except someone above us blasted music. *grumble* Oh well got to get up anyway to "check out" at 11. Made breakfast, packed, changed and left our bags so we could go to the square and get ferry tickets and maybe go to one of the beaches for a short while. Mosied to St. George beach. Sat in the shade of course and people watch. Went back to get our bags and walked to port where we witnessed this massive floating equipment/vessel do a corner around another rather large boat and back into the dock. After which, at least 10 trucks (and I mean those big ones - carrying goods/containers) came rolling out the back of the boat. Of course there were other cargo as well like cars and humans. *impressed*
This was our ferry from Naxos to Santorini
Anyway, on board the blue star naxos to Santorini - our last island in our island hopping adventure.

Arrive in Santorini at about 3:30 PM. Found a place to stay for the next 2 nights, dumped our bags and off we go.

Walked to the marketplace and found a tour place. Inquired about the boat tours - decided on the all day bottomglass boat tour of the Caldera.
One of the many churches on the island
Switchbacks from Port to Fira town
Took the public bus to Oia (pronounced "e-ah") to watch the sunset as recommended by this nice lady we met in Naxos. Cute town indeed. Had dinner on a rooftop restaurant and watched the sun set. Dinner was good. Pork was delicious. The Santorini white wine we had was also great. It was just a little too windy so it was kind of cold.
Dinner at Oia
That crab ... always with the alcohol. Nykteri wine was delicious

Walked around town a little more and got an ice-cream while waiting for the bus.

Got back to Fira and walked around. Well. more like shopping for me. :p Headed back to clean up and rest for the night. Got to be ready for the Caldera boat tour tomorrow.
